Kushida has finally made his televised NXT debut. The former New Japan star battled Kassius Ohno in the main event of the May 1 edition of NXT, where The Timesplitter tapped out The Knockout Artist.
Kushida is yet another International star signed by Vince McMahon’s company. It seems that WWE is attempting to corner the marked on today’s hottest talents, if for on other reason than to keep them from signing with other companies.
Kushida spent nine years in New Japan, where he was a six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion and a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team champion.
The new NXT star was rumored to be coming onboard for quite some time before WWE finally made it official just before WrestleMania 35. Now that he’s part of the NXT roster, it could very well be that Kushida is headed to the top of the black and gold brand.
Kushida is highly regarded in the industry as one of the best cruiserweights in the game today. His high-flying style, combined with his technically sound ground attack, make him one of the most well rounded performers in the business.
