NXT UK champion Pete Dunne retained his title at Takeover: Blackpool on January 12. The Bruiserweight spoke to WWE.com after the event came to an end and now it’s on to the next challenge.
That next challenge is likely going to be WALTER. The international wrestling star finally arrived in NXT UK at Takeover. He came down to the ring after Dunne’s match and once he was in the ring, the two men stared each other down.
Neither man backed down and even though Dunne is arguably the most popular star on the brand, WALTER did receive a huge ovation. The crowd also chanted his name during the face-off as well.
Fans are still buzzing over Dunne’s match with Joe Coffey. Both men indeed waged war in an extremely intense, highly combative bout. This was surely the best contest on the card and is definitely an early match of the year candidate.
Pete Dunne’s UK title run is now over 600 days, which makes him the longest reigning champion currently in WWE.
