Michael Elgin Makes Impact Wrestling Debut At ‘Impact Rebellion’

Former ROH World Champion and IWGP Intercontinental Champion Michael Elgin made his Impact Wrestling debut at Sunday night’s Impact Rebellion pay-per-view, confronting Brian Cage just minutes after he won the Impact World Championship in the show’s semi-main event.

Elgin rather unexpectedly cut ties with New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier this month, as the promotion posted on their official English-language website that they had reached a “mutual agreement” to not sign the Canadian star to a new contract.

It would appear that Impact Wrestling has big plans for Big Mike, as he not only confronted Brian Cage following the world title match, but actually laid him out with a spinning back fist and his patented Elgin Bomb – an impressive feet for an opponent so large.

This is certainly not the first time Elgin and Cage have met in the wrestling ring. Along with several great matches against one another on the independent scene, they were actually a tag team in PWG known as The Unbreakable F’n Machines, winning the PWG Tag Team Championships.
