As noted, WWE has possibly changed its stance on top WWN Live star Matt Riddle, as the company in the past has hesitated to offer Riddle a deal due to his chronic marijuana use.
On the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, host Dave Meltzer had the following to say on Riddle possibly signing with either WWE or NJPW.
“The rumor that I heard is that both New Japan and WWE have interest in him. New Japan I’m gonna guess, as far as interest in him, would probably only have been for the U.S. market, so that’s very limited dates. I can’t imagine that they would take him in Japan, unfortunately, it’s just a matter of how Japan is. But yeah, he’s probably WWE bound.”
Meltzer also noted that Riddle has no interest in working for Ring of Honor, so it’s likely his time to be a star in WWE.
