News On Network TV Possibly Airing XFL, Interesting WWE Title Statistic, WrestleMania Axxess Ticket Info

As noted, Vince McMahon made the blockbuster announcement yesterday that the XFL will be returning in 2020.

During a conference call to make the announcement, McMahon noted he is currently looking into various ways of airing the XFL, including social platforms, television and more.

When the XFL first launched in 2001, the league aired on NBC, as Vince teamed up with Dick Ebersol, then-President of NBC Sports, for the project.

On the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Dave Meltzer speculated NBC will not be an option for the returning XFL as the network currently carries the NFL. Meltzer added network television could be a tough get for The XFL as all of the major networks such as ABC, CBS, and FOX all carry the NFL.

“Tickets for everything are way up, so there are avenues for revenue there, and there are avenues for revenue from different broadcaster platforms,” said Meltzer. “But [Vince] doesn’t have an NBC out there because every [network]has NFL. Maybe one of these networks will want to do something because the value of live sports has increased.”
