  • Kota Ibushi – 10
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi – 8
  • EVIL – 8

With only two more nights of competition remaining in the A Block, the field is starting to thin in a major way. The biggest name eliminated so far is KENTA, who started out as a strong frontrunner, but lost key matches to Okada, SANADA and Bad Luck Fale that pushed him just out of contention.

At long last, SANADA finally defeated Kazuchika Okada – something he’s been trying to do for years now, unsuccessfully. That’ll put him in line for a future title shot, but one more win from the champion will put both Tanahashi and EVIL out of reach of winning the tournament as well. While anything can happen, it appears the A Block is hurdling towards an Okada/Ibushi finale on Day 17.
