NWA Announces Date, Location & Major Partner For Upcoming ‘Crockett Cup’ Return

Earlier this year the NWA officially announced that they would be resurrecting a classic tournament from the historic legacy of Jim Crockett Promotions — the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament, better known as the “Crockett Cup” for short.

The concept was first brought to life in 1986 and featured a staggering 28 tag teams from all across the country, with the Road Warriors ultimately defeating Ronnie Garvin and Magnum T.A. in what was a colossal event.

The Crockett Cup will return on April 17th at the Cabarrus Arena in Concord, North Carolina. The NWA has officially announced that they will be partnering with Ring of Honor, who will be sending their own teams to compete in the tournament, and an official press release sent out earlier today indicated that more competing promotions would be announced in the coming weeks.
