As seen on WWE Smackdown this week, WWE has begun teasing the split of Rusev and Aiden English, as Lana made her return to TV, sporting a Rusev Day t-shirt, and implied English is holding Rusev back in WWE.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has always viewed Rusev and English as a mid-card team, and there are no plans to put the tag titles on the duo, so splitting them up makes sense. The perception in WWE is that Rusev and Lana work better together as a main event level act, making it possible the two are in line for a push if they are indeed reunited and English is split from The Bulgarian Brute.
