The November 21 edition of NXT delivered only three matches but high intensity was definitely on display. The episode was hot on the heels of Takeover: WarGames from November 17. That event saw Tommaso Ciampa successfully defend the NXT Championship against The Velveteen Dream and The Undisputed Era fell to Ricochet, Pete Dunne and The War Raiders in the main event.
But on this night it was one of the company’s newest stars that took his share of the spotlight. Keith Lee stepped into the ring with Fidel Bravo and it wasn’t exactly a technical masterpiece. But it was a great showcase for Lee, who easily won the match.
But this was not the last that fans would see of Lee, as he later made his presence known against Lars Sullivan. Sullivan crushed Keita Murray but came face-to-face with Lee after the match. It was announced on WWE programming this past week that Sullivan would soon make his debut on the main roster. However he does seem to have his hands full with Lee and the two men will face off next week.
The main event of the night featured Candice LeRae versus Nikki Cross. The two women have heat and that heat is the direct result of Nikki’s connection to the Aleister Black/Johnny Gargano storyline. Cross knew that Gargano was the man that attacked Black in August of 2018.
Cross finally made that fact known to Aleister, which ultimately led to his showdown with Gargano. The two men delivered a hard-fought match at Takeover, which may or may not, have ended their feud.
Gargano’s wife Candice LeRae took exception with Nikki’s involvement and the two women mixed it up in the middle of the ring. LeRae was on the losing end of this match but it could be that she will eventually join Gargano in his new role as a heel in NXT.
