NXT UK Tag Team Championship Ladder Match
Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs. Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) vs. South Wales Sub Culture (Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster)
This was just a wild, all-out war from the opening bell. Fair warning, there is a 0% chance that I caught even close to everything happening. A ladder was brought into the ring right away, but they took turns using that one ladder rather than try to introduce a half dozen of them and overdo it. Within the first first minutes Webster had done a Shooting Star Press off a ladder, and Aichner squashed him into the same ladder with a triangle springboard moonsault. Pure insanity.
I spoke too soon about simplicity, as out of nowhere there were FOUR other ladders introduced, set up in all kinds of ridiculous structures. Gibson surprised everyone with a 450 splash to take out Wolfgang, then put his partner on his shoulders and began to climb the ladder. Aichner made the save and Imperium nailed the Vets with loud uppercuts. They began their own climb, but of course Gallus is there to knock the ladders down. Coffey got a push from his partner and launched over the ropes with a tope to topple everyone. Wolfgang followed with a big release suplex to send Gibson hard into the ramp.
Andrews and Webster came back to take out Gallus with double Stundog Millionaires. They went out and set up a super ladder on the outside that must have been a good 12-14 feet tall. Coffey hit them from behind and began setting up tables at ringside for good measure. Why the heck not. It was a bit premature as Andrews hit him with a suplex on the floor, then set him on one of the tables, which proceeded to immediately collapse on its own. The two instead climbed up the super ladder, joined arms and dove through the air with a double Swanton Bomb, putting Wolfgang through the other table. Just to be clear – two guys, in what was basically a Spanish Fly, off a 12-14 foot ladder, through a table.
Andrews completely snaps and grabs a kendo stick from under the ring, swinging wildly on everyone as the crowd came to life. He began to climb the ladder, but Imperium stopped him and Aichner damn near killed the kid with a brainbuster. Coffey returned and tried to suplex him off the ladder, but in a genius spot his partner grabbed the other end of the ladder and kept him from going over. Wolfgang out of nowhere picks up Aichner and SPEARS HIM THROUGH THE LADDER WHICH BROKE IN HALF! Coffey threw Bartel over the ropes into the rest of the pack, and Gallus climbed the ladder to retain the titles.
