WWE chairman Vince McMahon will make his return on tonight’s SmackDown, where he’s going to address the situation between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon. It’s likely that Vince will make the rumored Owens vs. McMahon match official for Hell in a Cell.
One of the ideas that’s been floating around for the McMahon vs. Owens match is that if Owens wins, Shane loses his job as SmackDown commissioner, but if Shane wins, he not only gets his job back, but Owens will be forced to move over to Raw.
On Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer talked about the aforementioned stipulation for the Owens vs. Shane match:
Alvarez: “The idea was you do the Hell in a Cell match, and the storyline is if Shane wins he gets his job back, and then Kevin Owens goes to Raw because it’s been made very clear that hey can’t be on the same brand together.”
Meltzer: “But if Kevin Owens wins he gets control of the brand? That would be an interesting stipulation.”
