Enzo Amore
Enzo Amore Profile

Eric Anthony Arndt was born on December 8, 1986 in Hackensack, New Jersey. He played football during his high school years and eventually became a Division III linebacker and safety in University. Academically, he graduated with a journalism degree.

Interestingly, Arndt had no wrestling experience but had undergone some training with Joe DeFranco in New Jersey. Armed with a video of him doing exercises and cutting promos, the WWE gave him a shot and signed him and he debuted on NXT as Enzo Amore, a fast-talking, quick hitting mouthpiece that was continually spewing out jive and slang.

As a cocky heel, Amore was crushed by Mason Ryan on his debut and later found favor with Big Cass (Bill Morrisey), an old friend from New York. As a team, Big Cass and Amore did have some success, defeating Ryan in a handicap match and defeating CJ Parker and Tyler Breeze as well as Alexander Rusev and Scott Dawson.

Amore and Big Cass lost a NXT Tag Team Championship tournament and feuded with Marcus Louis and Sylvester Lefort whereby Amore got his beard shaved off at the end of the match.

Lefort and Amore would then be involved in a hair vs. hair match which Amore won, however Lefort bolted at the end of the bout and partner Louis got the hair removal!

Amore and Cass would then acquire a valet, Carmella. Even with the Diva by their side, they were unable to capture the NXT Tag Team Championship.

The two debuted on the main roster of Raw and won the first round of a tournament to determine the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship over the Ascension (Viktor and Konnor). Cass and Amore would then go on to defeat the Dudley Boyz (Devon and Bubba Ray) to advance to the finals where they were eliminated in a no contest against the Vaudevillians (Aiden English and Simon Gotch).

Amore and Cass would then affiliate themselves with John Cena in his battles against The Club (Karl Anderson, AJ Styles and Luke Gallows). As a three man team, Cena, Amore and Cass were able to defeat the Club.

They briefly feuded with Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens after a switch to the Raw brand ending up a loss for them at the “SummerSlam” Pay Per View event.

A storyline was then created to start a big feud between Amore and old rival Rusev. On an episode of Raw, Amore was locked outside of his room naked, only to be seen by Lana, Rusev’s valet/girlfriend. Later that night Rusev decimated Amore, but Amore would win in a follow-up bout.

Lana then demonstrated some amorous advances to Amore, saying that she was being taken advantage of by Rusev. This led to a feud between Cass and Amore against Rusev and Jinder Mahal.

At the recent WrestleMania XXXIII, Amore and Cass lost a fatal 4 way ladder match which was won by the returning Hardy Boyz. The two then lost a shot at becoming the number 1 contenders for the WWE Raw Tag team Championship.

Despite their lulls as a team, Amore and Cass are still sticking together and with perseverance, will likely develop a more successful record as a team in the championship ranks.
