The US Bank Arena has announced that Rey Mysterio will challenge WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura when the WWE Smackdown brand returns to Cincinnati, Ohio for a major live event on Nov. 24th.
The show will feature a number of title matches and special appearances under the “WWE Starrcade” banner, a play on the classic WCW event. Much like last year’s show of the same time, the company currently has no plans to broadcast live on the WWE Network, as the gimmick is simply a name to attract more fans to a Smackdown brand house show.
Mysterio returned to action this Tuesday night at Smackdown 1000, defeating Nakamura to qualify for the upcoming WWE World Cup tournament.
