ROH Announces 3 Big Matches for ‘Summer Supercard’ in Toronto During SummerSlam Weekend

Ring of Honor is partnering with the stars from NJPW, CMLL and the NWA to present ROH Summer Supercard, broadcast live from Toronto, Ontario during SummerSlam weekend this August.

Three big matches representing multiple brands were announced this afternoon for the event, including two title matches and a traditional CMLL trios bout that could possibly steal the weekend.

In the first of three confirmed matches, the returning Alex Shelley will get an opportunity at the ROH World Championship, currently held by Kingdom leader Matt Taven. The former Motor City Machine Gun will be returning to the ring ahead of this bout to prepare, coming off a year-long injury, but Taven will also have his hands full as he defends the title against Jay Lethal on 7/20 at ROH Manhattan Mayhem.

Also on the card, the incredible high-flying team of Hechicero, Templaro and Cavernario will take on Caristico, Stuka Jr., and Soberano Jr. in a traditional CMLL trios bout. And finally, the Ten Pounds of Gold will be on the line when Nick Aldis defends the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship against a member of Villain Enterprises hand-picked by “The Villain” himself, Marty Scurll.
