Nick Aldis will no longer be defending the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at next month’s ROH Summer Supercard event in Toronto, as the National Wrestling Alliance has reportedly ended their business relationship with Ring of Honor.
According to PWInsider.com, NWA Vice President Dave Lagana has finished up his remaining commitments with Ring of Honor. Multiple sources, including several who we have also reached out to, have indicated that the two sides parted on amicable terms and the door is open for the future.
Aldis was originally scheduled to defend his Ten Pounds of Gold against an undisclosed member of Villain Enterprises at ROH Summer Supercard on August 9th in Toronto, as a part of one of the many shows taking place in the city during SummerSlam weekend.
PWInsider also noted that NWA President Billy Corgan will be working towards producing a “weekly stand-alone series” after his band, the Smashing Pumpkins, finishes up its current tour.
