Sammy Guevara Thinks Cody Rhodes is Overlooking Him Ahead of AEW’s First Televised Match

All Elite Wrestling has published the latest entry in their Road to AEW on TNT series on YouTube, featuring an interview with one of the promotion’s brightest young stars, Sammy Guevara.

Guevara is 1-1 in an AEW ring after losing a singles match against the UK’s Kip Sabian at Double or Nothing this summer. He bounced back with a win in a 6-man tag match at Fight for the Fallen two months later, but will be given a major opportunity to jump forward out of the pack in the very near future.

AEW debuts on TNT on Wednesday, September 2 and the very first match of the very first, historic episode will see the 26-year-old Texan step into the ring against Cody Rhodes.

Not only is the “American Nightmare” one of the biggest names All Elite has to offer, but he is also #1 contender to the world title, and set to face Chris Jericho for the belt at Full Gear, the company’s next pay-per-view event. Guevara has an opportunity to make a huge name for himself on a global scale that night, but it has been confirmed that should Cody lose the match, he’ll no longer be next in line for the belt.
