During their AEW Full Gear media scrum, AEW World Tag Team Champions, SCU, confirmed that there are no plans to use the Freebird rule.
While WWE utilises the Freebird rule with New Day, which allows them to interchange between themselves, allowing different members of the group to defend the titles.
However, it seems that rule will not be used in AEW, at least as far as SCU is concerned, as Christopher Daniels confirmed they won’t be using the rule, meaning he is technically not a champion.
“No (on using the rule), these guys won the belts and their names are on the belts, I’ll get my own belt.”
With Daniels not competing for the Tag Team Titles, that doesn’t mean the Fallen Angel doesn’t have goals, and he discussed his future plans in AEW.
“I’m ready to wrestle and I am ready to wrestle Pengatgon, that’s my goal. I am going to get my revenge, he tried to put me out and I am going to at the very least put him out of the ring.”
