As seen on WWE Smackdown tonight, Shane McMahon announced he will be taking a leave of absence from his job as the Blue Brand Commissioner, then he announced Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will face each other in a singles match at WrestleMania 34.
While unconfirmed, speculation is that Shane McMahon will return to Smackdown as a “wrestler”, and end up inserting himself into the bout at some point, making it a Triple Threat match in New Orleans.
Petition Created Demanding Fabulous Moolah Match Change
As we noted earlier today, WWE faced significant social media backlash following the announcement that a Battle Royal match memorializing Hall of Famer The Fabulous Moolah will be taking place at WrestleMania 34.
A petition has since been created, via Change.org, in response to the match announcement, with the creator requesting the match name be changed, honoring another wrestler instead of Moolah. The description for the petition, which already has 3,894 signatures, reads as follows:
So today WWE announced The Fabulous Moolah Battle Royal that will be taken place at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 34. But the big problem with that is the person who is associated with that award was an evil woman who did nothing for Women’s Professional Wrestling. Fabulous Moolah pimped out women … we are currently in the #MeToo era, are you really trying to say that you endorsed her behaviour?
This isn’t right at all, if you want to have a Battle Royale, name it after someone worthy, like Miss Elizabeth, Chyna, Trish, Lita, Sensational Sheri, Jacqueline, Alundra Blaze…
Need I go on?
We hope all Wrestling fans will take the time to support this petition because if you think this is right you are just as bad as them.
