The Briscoes & Guerrillas Of Destiny Continue To Sling Profanity On Twitter

The rivalry between New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor’s two greatest heavyweight tag teams is apparently far from over, as the Guerrillas of Destiny have continued their rivalry with The Briscoes via social media this week.

Originally, the two teams were supposed to compete in a Winner Take All match this past weekend at Madison Square Garden, with both the IWGP Tag Team Championships and the ROH World Tag Team Championships on the line. However, when Villain Enterprises (Brody King & PCO) won the Ring of Honor titles just weeks before the big day, the match at G1 Supercard was changed to a Fatal 4-Way instead.

The Briscoes fired the first virtual shots from what appears to be their chicken farm in Sandy Fork, essentially telling the Guerrillas to put a little respect on the way they treat the Ring of Honor tag titles, which Mark and Jay Briscoe have held a record TEN times!

Ever the eloquent wordsmith, Tama Tonga shot back via Twitter with a message of his own. The five-time IWGP tag champion claimed that The Briscoes should have been happy just to be included in “their match” at Madison Square Garden.

The Briscoes then sent one final response sarcastically “thanking” the Guerrillas of Destiny and New Japan Pro-Wrestling for allowing them to be a part of their show at Madison Square Garden. Check it out:

Right now it’s unclear exactly when a rematch between the two veteran teams will take place. GoD are scheduled to defend the IWGP titles on 4/29 against the team of Toru Yano and Togi Makabe, but the match cards have been released for the whole NJPW Road to Wrestling Dontaku tour and The Briscoes are not currently listed to appear.

The most likely scenario seems to be the upcoming ROH and NJPW War of the Worlds tour, featuring four events in Buffalo, Toronto, Grand Rapids and Chicago scheduled for this May. Currently, the Guerrillas of Destiny are not announced for those events, but the match cards have not been announced yet so that could obviously change.
