It has been three years since The Mountain Goats dropped their critically acclaimed pro-wrestling-inspired album “Beat the Champ”, and three years since Sasha Banks – who hadn’t even made her debut on the WWE main roster yet – put out a request for the indie folk band to craft a song especially for her.
Well, it appears the eclectic group has finally delivered on an old promise, as The Mountain Goats dropped a brand new single this past week entitled “Song for Sasha Banks”. In fact, WWE.com has published a full interview with frontman John Darnielle revealing how the whole concept came to be, and his journey exploring the life and career of The Boss. Check it out:
We here in the @mountain_goats acknowledge @SashaBanksWWE as the Boss and we know no road worth traveling doesn't have some bumps and we promised her this song several years back and I wrote it last week and here it is https://t.co/FZApRe6p1m

Rusev Reflects on History w/ Xavier Woods
Happy Rusev Day, everyone! The Lion of Bulgaria gave a heartfelt shoutout to his long-time rival Xavier Woods, throwing back to all their matches over the years. Why? No idea.
The two actually go back to the very early days of the NXT brand. In fact, the first time they ever faced off (outside of battle royals) was in a six-man tag team match that took place five years ago this week. Woods teamed with Bo Dallas and former Nexus member Mason Ryan, taking on Rusev, Luke Harper and Leo Kruger, who went on to become Adam Rose.
Since then they’ve competed on virtually every platform possible, from NXT Live events to the bright lights of WrestleMania, and everything in between. Rusev is also a frequent guest on Woods’ YouTube gaming channel UpUpDownDown, and has competed in multiple video game tournaments.
