Update On Alberto El Patron’s Impact Wrestling Contract Status, Impact Officials Unaware of Recent Talent Departure?


As we noted earlier this week, Impact Wrestling star Chris Adonis, aka Chris Masters, was one of the talent departures which took place at the last set of Impact Wrestling TV tapings.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Impact officials were reportedly unaware of Adonis’ plans to leave Impact, and were surprised when Adonis informed them after the third night of tapings that he was leaving the company. Adonis had been scheduled to appear at every night of the tapings, however his sudden departure¬†left many in Impact scratching their heads.

In other Impact Wrestling news, with the slew of recent talent departures taking place, the next top star to keep an eye on is reportedly Alberto El Patron.

El Patron’s Impact contract expires this spring, and with Impact recently doing away with high money, guaranteed talent deals, it will be interesting to see if the company can retain El Patron. Impact recently signed Austin Aries to help with the loss of names such as EC3 and Bobby Lashley.

In related news, EC3 is reportedly headed to WWE at some point in the near future, and while Bobby Lashley’s future plans are unknown at this time, both him and EC3 are available to appear in this month’s Royal Rumble match if WWE does bring them in.
