Vince McMahon On If The XFL Will Change His Daily WWE Duties, Who Was Responsible For Ronda Rousey Signing


As we noted moments ago, WWE reported record financial results amidst a strong performing 2017 fourth quarter, and earlier today Vince McMahon and WWE CFO George Barrios, along with Michelle Wilson and Michael Weiss, participated in a financial results conference call.

When asked about the major announcement of the XFL relaunch, Vince noted the relaunch of the league will in no way change his daily WWE duties. Vince added a separate team will be running The XFL, which will allow him to maintain a continued focus on his day-to-day WWE work.

With regards to funding the XFL, Vince was asked if the $100 million stock sale would be sufficient to fund the league, and while Vince admitted he does not believe it will be sufficient, he did not comment any further on possible capital for the big project.

On the signing of Ronda Rousey, Vince McMahon praised Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and credited them for locking Rousey into a WWE contract, and also praised the couple for continuing to push the Women’s Evolution in WWE, which Vince said “opens a lot of doors” for the company.
