Was This Week’s WWE Raw Viewership Able to Hold Up Without Rousey & Lesnar?

This week’s WWE Raw was without two of its biggest stars, as both Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey were both announced to appear but were not in Detroit. In the case of Lesnar, WWE kept him off the show to further his story line heading into WrestleMania, but it is not yet known why Rousey did not appear. Just last week, WWE announced Rousey would be appearing on every Raw leading up to WrestleMania, but that is clearly not the case.

Despite the absence of The Beast and the Rowdy one, WWE Raw viewership was able to rise significantly, as the show averaged 3.352, according to ShowBuzz Daily. This week’s number is up from last week’s 3.099 million viewership average, and is also the highest WWE Raw viewership number since the night after the Royal Rumble PPV.

Below is the hourly breakdown of this week’s WWE Raw viewership:

-The first hour averaged 3.351 million viewers
-The second hour averaged 3.429 million viewers
-The final hour averaged 3.275 million viewers

This week’s WWE Raw ranked #1 for the night in overall cable TV viewership and was headlined by Braun Strowman winning a Tag Team Battle Royal match to crown the new #1 contender to the Raw Tag Team Champions, The Bar.
