Nikki Cross and Bianca Belair continued their rivalry on the January 9 edition of NXT. The two women waged war in a highly intense match that saw them battle in the ring, outside the ring and on the entrance ramp.
In the end it was Belair that came out on top. The current No.1 Contender to the NXT Women’s Championship looked very good during the match. She controlled the majority of the bout and she dictated the pace from start to finish.
Belair’s win over Cross was logical because of Bianca’s upcoming title match with Shanya Baszler at Takeover: Phoenix. After all, the challenger should really not be dominated by anyone before the title match takes place. This is especially true of Belair, who has been on the upswing in NXT.
Cross however is on her way out. Nikki joins EC3, Lars Sullivan, Toni Storm and Heavy Machinery as the next group of NXT Superstars getting called up to WWE’s main roster.
When Nikki will officially debut on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live is unknown. Belair’s title match with Baszler happens at Takeover:Phoenix on Saturday, January 26.
