Former New Japan star Kushida will be back in a NXT ring on Wednesday, May 15. The announcement was made on the May 8 edition of NXT and now Kushida’s fans must anxiously await his return to the ring.
Kushida made his NXT TV debut on May 1, in a winning effort against Kassius Ohno. The Knockout Artist actually tapped out to Kushida, who delivered a fine performance on his first televised outing for WWE. The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion came to the company in April of 2019 and since that time, fans have been buzzing over his possible NXT future.
The Timesplitter is highly regarded as perhaps the best junior heavyweight in the business today and he’s enjoyed that reputation for quite some time. Kushida earned his stripes in Japan of course, where he fought some of the most intense strong style wrestlers in the business.
But now that he’s in NXT, he has a chance to go far beyond where he was in New Japan. Kushida is an extremely talented Superstar on a brand that’s already stacked deep with talent. But with great timing and the right booking, Kushida can elevate to the very top of the black and gold brand.
