WWE Interested in Top Talents to Combat ROH MSG
As we noted earlier today, with early ticket sales for the 2019 ROH and NJPW G1 Supercard event being strong, WWE will most likely be looking to sign top indie talents whose contracts are expiring before G1, reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Aside from top names like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes, WWE has expressed interest in top EVOLVE star Shane Strickland. WWE is also interested in top Impact Wrestling stars Fenix and Pentagon, Jr. WWE has already done a “180” on Matt Riddle, as the star who the company would not consider in the past, given his history of marijuana use, is now likely on his way to NXT.
The Observer notes with 100,000 wrestling fans being in New York City for WrestleMania 35 weekend, WWE might be looking to lock up key talents who will not be under contract by the time the ROH MSG show takes place.
Top WWE Star Turning Heel?
The Wrestling Observer also notes that advertised WWE live event cards for the fall are listing Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman, and while it’s possible WWE could run a babyface vs babyface matches, it could be an indication that one of the two might be turning heel.
