WWE Introduces New 24/7 Championship – And We Already Have A Title Change!

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley returned to Monday Night Raw this evening, as advertised, to introduce the fans to a brand new championship.

As widely speculated, the brand new WWE 24/7 Championship is essentially a reboot of the classic Hardcore Championship. The title will be defended under 24/7 rules, which means it can be defended anywhere, at any time, so long as a licensed WWE official is present. Falls count anywhere.

Foley announced that the brand new title will be open to challengers from Monday Night Raw, Smackdown Live, 205 Live, NXT and NXT UK. He also teased that even a few WWE legends might show up to challenge for the belt at some point, which means that, theoretically, anyone is eligible.

The Hardcore Legend then set the 24/7 Championship down in the center of the ring, and called out anyone backstage to come and take it — the first person to leave the ring holding the belt wins it.

Titus O’Neil then beat out a whole flock of Superstars to become the first ever champion. However, as he was celebrating his victory on the entrance ramp, Robert Roode and his glorious mustache attacked him from behind, before rolling him up for a three-count to steal the title!
