WWE Reportedly Planning A Latin American Tournament

According to an online report by Planeta Wrestling, WWE is planning a Latin American Tournament for the WWE Network, scheduled to take place as early as this summer.

The report suggests that WWE NXT general manager, William Regal was so impressed during his recent tour of Chile where he was scouting for future WWE talent that it left a big impression on him and other WWE officials.

As well as that, the report states that WWE’s last tour of Chile managed to pack out the Movistar Arena for a show which had an excellent live crowd.

Planeta state that the tournament would have entrants from Chile, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil (amongst other countries), and would take place in Chile.

WWE has been running several tournaments lately on the WWE Network, from the Cruiserweight Classic and the UK Championship Tournament to the most recent Mae Young Classic, this could be the next option.

Another interesting note is that WWE apparently will not crown a new champion in this tournament as they did with Tyler Bate and the WWE UK Championship, but instead, the winner would earn a full-time WWE NXT contract.
