According to the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE star Mark Henry, who has not been used on WWE TV since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33, is likely retired from WWE in-ring competition.
The Observer notes the former World Champion, who wrestled only three times in 2017, “is pretty much considered retired without any fanfare.”
Despite being finished in the ring, Henry remains under contract to WWE and will be making an appearance at a Northeast Wrestling charity event on March 3nd in Waterbury, CT. The event will also feature Rey Mysterio, former WWE star Emma, Flip Gordon and Matt Riddle. Henry will be appearing at the event in a non-wrestling capacity.
Henry made his WWE debut back in March of 1997, and in addition to wrestling he was a two-time Olympian in 1992 and 1996, and a gold, silver, and bronze medalist at the Pan American Games in 1995.
