The UFC had Nate Diaz beat Connor McGregor, Holly Holm destroying Ronda Rousey and now the WWE has Goldberg destroying Brock Lesnar in one minute and twenty-five seconds. Destroying the so-called ‘untouchable’ ones, whether in Film, Sports or Professional Wrestling has always generated a strong emotional response from an audience. However, much like a movie, it cannot be judged properly until the story has been complete. Connor McGregor arguably the world’s biggest star was choked out by Nate Diaz, but his loss only catapulted him to new heights and made him an even bigger star, also making the UFC millions of dollars in the process. The UFC will be hoping to repeat that story with their other mega star, Ronda Rousey and WWE is looking to draw from UFC’S booking and create their own comeback story. In two years Brock Lesnar has become WWE’s biggest and most dominant superstar. Brock conquered The Undertaker’s undefeated streak, destroyed John Cena to win the WWE title and shocked everyone with his vicious beat down on Randy Orton. But everyone needs to hit the reset button when the time is right and the return of Goldberg, provided WWE with the perfect opportunity to do just that. At some point in time, Brock had to lose and a fair argument can be made that a younger superstar should have been the one to beat him, but in reality Goldberg was the perfect choice. In the eyes of the casual fan if you look at Goldberg you believe he can beat Brock Lesnar, add in the fact Goldberg is a legend and a serious draw, it all makes sense.  Brock has been defeated, the wrestling world went crazy and no matter what they say, everyone will tune in to see the conclusion of this story. Now, the beast will return with a vengeance, the conqueror will return to conquer his conqueror and regain his throne and order will be restored. It’s the perfect story, with the perfect characters and if done correctly, it will have the perfect ending. WWE’s top star will be refreshed and given new life. Also, when the day does come for that young gun to beat Lesnar it will still be the ultimate accomplishment and it will allow the WWE to cement a new top star.
