wXw 16 Carat Gold Results (3/8): Night 1 – WALTER vs David Starr, Lucha Bros, WWE NXT Stars & More In First Round Action

The fourteenth annual wXw 16 Carat Gold Tournament kicked off this Friday in Oberhausen, Germany in front of a record sell-out crowd of 1,128 fans from all around the world.

This year’s tournament features an incredibly stacked lineup including WWE NXT Superstars WALTER, Ilja Dragunov and Marcel Bartel, as well as Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix from Impact Wrestling/Lucha Underground/All Elite Wrestling/literally everywhere, Shigehiro Irie and Daisuke Sekimoto from Japan, and many more that will likely become much bigger names in the months and years to come.

Much like the PWG Battle of Los Angeles tournament, 16 Carat Gold has become something of a standard-bearer on the international independent scene for its storied history of winners, who have all gone on to become much bigger, globally recognized names. That list includes Kassius Ohno (2007 and 2014), Sami Callihan (2011), Sami Zayn (2012), Aleister Black (2013 and 2015), Zack Sabre Jr. (2016) and several other world-class talents.

Night one will be available for streaming at wXw Now this coming Monday, March 11th.
